Why a website FAQ cannot automatically count as demand monitoring

An FAQ helps visitors understand a known product. Monitoring checks which answer AI gives to a neutral buyer question. The same wording can sometimes serve both purposes, but its role and expected result must be defined in advance. The number of FAQ pages is not the number of customer queries checked.

Every question has a purpose

‘How do I regain access to my account?’ is a normal support question. It belongs in help content but does little to test whether AI recommends the service to someone unfamiliar with it. ‘How can I organize AI-link monitoring for several websites?’ concerns choosing a process and is suitable for observation. Determine the intent first, then decide whether the question becomes an article topic, a check-panel item or both with different purposes.

Why an existing FAQ can distort the picture

A company usually answers questions about itself on its own website. Moving those questions into monitoring gives the assistant product context before it selects a source. Such results may reflect name recognition rather than business discovery. That does not make the FAQ useless: help content resolves doubts, explains terms and assists people after they arrive. A conclusion about market visibility simply needs a different question set and independent answers that can be checked later.

Sort questions without deleting content

Review the existing list and mark support questions, term definitions, account settings and internal instructions as content topics when their purpose is to explain the website. Keep buyer tasks in monitoring. An educational example: ‘How do I connect our MCP?’ becomes a how-to article, while ‘How can I hand website promotion tasks to an agent?’ tests the choice of a suitable approach. There is no need to publish both as nearly identical landing pages: combine material serving the same intent.

What AURA GEO does

Questions have a monitoring or content_faq purpose. The monitoring-question reader excludes FAQ; a fixed run accepts active monitoring questions. With project-configuration permission, aura_update_question can correct a question's purpose or status. Earlier observations retain their history, so before comparing them, inspect which question and purpose they belong to. Auri should not turn an unsuitable FAQ into evidence of demand merely because a prepared answer is already saved in the workspace.

How to use both outcomes

After a neutral check, identify what the buyer was missing: terms, an example, a comparison, instructions or evidence. This becomes a help section or a standalone article. Then repeat the original question and save the new answer separately. If the information needed for a check is not yet available, present the prepared topic as a task rather than completed research. Website content and observation history are connected, but they serve different functions and require different evidence.

Conditions and limitations
  • A project's sample does not represent all AI users' questions and answers.
