How to help search discover a new article on your website

Add the new page to a suitable section and connect it to existing accessible content with ordinary, meaningful links. A sitemap supplements navigation but does not replace a clear place for the article on the website.

Why a published link alone is not enough

A person may open a new URL from a chat, but that does not yet explain to a search engine how the content relates to the rest of the website. Google’s guidance explains that links help discover pages and understand their context. Reliable retrieval requires a normal address in a link element with href, not just a click handler.

A good connection addresses the reader’s question. A service description can appropriately link to a detailed workflow, and that workflow to a supporting case study. An endless list of similar links at the bottom of a page explains the content less clearly than a few meaningful connections.

Create a small map of connections

For each new article, identify the linking page, link text and next useful destination. Check whether someone can reach the article without internal search or knowing the exact URL. The link name should say what opens: for example, “How to check bot access,” instead of repeating “Learn more” everywhere.

As an illustration, a service publishes a review of its own implementation. A link appears beside the relevant workflow description and in the library. The review links to the connection guide. This helps visitors and technical discovery, but does not turn the article into an independent product review.

Check routes that have actually been published

Open the article directly, refresh the page, and check mobile navigation and the link back to its section. Make sure the link does not lead to a draft or a local server address. If the interface is a single-page application, the route itself must open without first visiting the homepage.

Include the primary URL in the sitemap and do not multiply variants with different parameters just to increase the count. If the address has moved, update links to the final route. This makes it easier to align search status, actual answers and visits later.

How to apply this with AURA

AURA GEO provides a managed library of published pages and URL verification information. The agent adds connections elsewhere on the client’s website through an authorized repository or CMS; connecting MCP alone does not create that access.

Ask the agent to show where a visitor will enter the content and where they can go next. After installation, test the actual links. The purpose of this task is an accessible path to content, not an artificial increase in page count.

Conditions and limitations
  • Internal links do not guarantee inclusion in search.
  • A local file is not a public page.
