How to add a website to AURA GEO through an agent with one link

You can give a connected agent a website address and ask it to create a project. It needs configuration permission and authorization to create projects. After creation, it reads onboarding, obtains the next step and continues while retaining information already known.

Where a new website owner should start

Connect the existing AURA GEO server to your agent, complete authorization and send an ordinary public link. You do not need the internal project identifier in advance. A useful first message is: ‘Add my website, check its readiness for AI search and show the next step.’ The agent first checks available projects. If the relevant website already exists, continue that project to preserve its history. Recreating a project must not bypass missing permission. In that case, an owner action is required at the returned access-management link.

Why the exact domain name matters

The website's hostname is used for the project. An article path, URL parameters and fragment do not become separate websites. However, www and non-www addresses cannot arbitrarily be treated as one configuration: check the actual canonical version and granted access. AURA accepts a public HTTP(S) address without secrets or a nonstandard service port; a private local server is unsuitable for external checks. A customer's account must not receive passwords in a URL. Provide the working public address where visitors actually begin learning about the business.

How the agent guides further setup

A newly created project is not yet considered connected for publication. The agent obtains current state through aura_get_onboarding and follows available nextSteps in order. These may first cover business information and ownership verification, then section preparation and page checks. State is reread after every action. A completed settings list helps organize the process, but even every checkbox being ticked does not mean the website has been cited. Citation requires a separate actual AI answer with a link; referrals require installed-tracker events.

What to prepare if the agent stops

Check which AURA account the tool is connected to and whether it may create a website. Then inspect the specific reason it stopped: external sign-in, domain verification, missing source files or a role restriction. A good handoff contains one action and an exact link rather than telling you to search for settings yourself. Do not create new projects on each retry. Return to the original, reread the saved plan and resume the unfinished step. This allows the executor to change without losing the context of work already completed.

Conditions and limitations
  • A local address is unsuitable for external crawling
  • Creating a project does not verify ownership
  • Do not duplicate an inaccessible existing project
