AI linked to the site today but not tomorrow: interpreting a small sample

One saved answer confirms only an observation under specific conditions. Assessing consistency requires repetitions and a clear sample size. Show the number of checked answers alongside the share, keep unsuccessful and blocked attempts separate, and do not select only favorable texts for the report.

Repeating a question need not produce the same text

Generative systems can answer the same input differently; OpenAI discusses this variability in its model-evaluation guidance. The absence today of yesterday's link is therefore not enough to immediately blame the website, an article update or lost index coverage. Check the conditions and original answer first. A difference between texts warrants observation, while a conclusion about a lasting change needs a more systematic series and an understanding of data limitations.

Always show the denominator

An educational example: a link appears in two answers out of four. The correct label is ‘2 of 4 saved answers in this panel,’ not ‘we are recommended to half the audience.’ If two more answers without a link are then collected, the original share changes without any proven change in demand. Neither total service users, actual question frequency nor buyer counts can be calculated from such a panel: the observation has a different unit of measurement.

Why not display a precise probability?

The numerical share from a small series looks confident, but precision in notation does not make the sample representative. NIST discusses confidence intervals for proportions and specific small-sample difficulties. However, AURA does not turn marketer-selected questions into a random sample of all users: automatically assigning it a survey margin of error would be incorrect. A practical report can simply state its size, composition, mode and available repetitions accurately, without portraying an unknown probability.

Save every actual attempt

After a favorable answer, do not delete an inconvenient result from the next check. Do not rerun a question endlessly until the desired name appears and then call that text typical. Set the available budget and repeat rule in advance. A technical block remains a block, while a completed answer without a link is a separate fact. This makes the history useful for choosing an action even if the graph does not show uninterrupted growth.

How AURA GEO helps

A fixed run shows check statuses, while history contains answers with dates and sources. This lets you revisit a disputed case and explain which records support the conclusion. Investigate a recurring content gap first, then prepare a substantive improvement. Do not promise a client first place based on one successful check; show what has been observed, where evidence remains limited and which next check would provide useful information.
