How AURA counts visits from AI

AURA records real page loads by referral source and preserves evidence of publication, submission and URL checks. Website owners can view the metrics in their workspace.

Connect your website so the agent can see the next step

Add the domain to AURA and verify website ownership. The agent connects at https://aurageo.io/mcp and retrieves the next actions through aura_get_onboarding. Access can be limited to one project and revoked in the workspace.

Where referral statistics come from

The AURA tracker is installed on public pages. It is connected automatically for the /answers/ section. The source is recognized from the referrer for ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Grok, Copilot and other supported AI services, or from an allowed utm_source value. Counts represent observed page loads, not unique people. If the app hides the source, the visit remains direct or unknown.

What a page status means

Published means AURA retrieved accessible HTML with the correct canonical. Submitted means a search engine receipt exists, such as an IndexNow response. Inclusion in an index is confirmed through separate Google or Bing data. Citations are saved with a source link. Submitting a URL alone does not confirm indexing or an AI recommendation of the website.

What the tracker stores

The tracker sends the page path, event type and recognized source. It does not use cookies, browser storage or a visitor fingerprint, and does not send question text, forms, URL parameters or a full conversation link. Server observations of crawlers are kept separate from human referrals.

Where to view the result

The project overview contains Connection, Pages and Results sections. For a page, you can open evidence for each stage with its source and time. An unknown indexing status remains without a number until a search engine response is received. To continue setup, the agent reads the next step, while the owner completes the required action through a link.
